First up, the new girl:

Meet Claudia Donovan! The cutest little vaguely steampunk teenage genius with a tragic past you'll ever meet.

Claudia's from Warehouse 13, Syfy's answer to The X-files and Indiana Jones. You know that giant warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Arc full of boxes upon boxes of mysterious stuff? Yeah. Warehouse 13 is like that, only everything's on display to play with. Because the place is totally run by geniuses. *nods*

Claudia's here pre-series, so she doesn't know about the Warehouse just yet. What she knows is that her parents died when she was little, and her older brother, who raised her after that, vanished in a mysterious teleportation experiment with a complex compass from the 16th century, while supervised by an odd grant official named Artie Nielson, and her life has kind of sucked since then. She's bounced around from foster home to foster home, determined to learn as much about the compass and her brother's experiment as possible so she can recreate it and understand fully what happened to him. In our little world, she gets kicked out of yet another foster home, and a mysterious woman named Mrs. Frederick shows up and offers her a chance to go to boarding school instead. And thus will she arrive in Fandom.

What this means for you all is that Claudia will be fairly prickly and distrusting at first, but eventually relax into her properly kooky self. She will also be attempting to discover Rheticus' secret to human teleportation without blowing anything up or killing anyone. And it's entirely possible she'll "borrow" and repurpose your electronic devices (with your OOC permission, natch) in order to make whatever gadget or gizmo might be needed for whatever plot might be going on. Because Claudia's the kind of girl who can make a computer out of duct tape and paper clips.

And the "old" guys:

This is Priestly. He's from Ten Inch Hero, which is a fluffy little indie rom-com about young adults working at a sandwich shop in Santa Cruz. He's a punk. But he's a punk in that happy-go-lucky, anarchy-is-about-love-not-violence, my-role-models-are-actually-hippies kind of way. But with a mohawk and strong beliefs regarding the tyranny of various governmental systems and the power of the people. He's a senior, his best friend is a super-hero-in-training with an adrenaline addiction, he works at Luke's, where he's got a long standing feud going on with the kitchen staff, he does theater, owns a flying squirrel named "Ramone", and is a little bit of a smart ass, but otherwise, he's a pretty nice guy. Just don't start talking to him about politics -- unless you want him to go on and on in a slightly uneducated way about "the Establishment" -- or assassinations -- unless you wanna hear about that island in the Bermuda Triangle where celebs go after they've faked their deaths so they can enjoy some peace and quiet. He'll gladly make you a sandwich either way, though. He already provides them for at least a couple extracurriculars. And I still haven't figured out how to set up an anarchist roller derby league in an RP setting. I'M RUNNING OUT OF TIME!

This is Castiel. He's an angel, from After-Elton's favorite crazy CW genre show starring two hot brothers who are hot for each other?, Supernatural. He's a little bit more complicated. For ease of, well, my typing fingers, I've got a handy list of his powers and weaknesses drawn up here. He will never, ever use any of those abilities on your character without your express permission. To date, he's only really done more than showing off his wings or letting Jimmy, his vessel, out to play twice, once to put Vince Noir to sleep to get him to shut up about God not loving his hair, and the other because Jack Priest, under the influence of Soap Opera Weekend, was trying to take over his church.

Many of Castiel's conversations turn to religion. It's just kind of who he is. He's getting better at talking about other things, though, so if you're up for Cass-interaction and don't wanna go into any religious stuff, just let me know. Otherwise, I'll just kinda let the conversation go where it pleases. Castiel gives a weekly sermon on Thursdays, usually on some topic which has struck his fancy over the course of the week. These are not your typical sermons. He has no priestly training, or, really, any qualifications as a religious leader at all other than the fact that he's an angel. The sermons are very opinionated without, at times, actually forming any sort of opinion, and they're likely to raise far more questions than they answer. If asked, he'll tell you that's because he wants you to think for yourself and exercise your free will, since you have free will, you lucky bastard -- anyway. He's always available for characters who want to talk, and the church, Our Lady of Fandom, is open 24/7 -- but if you know you're going to want Castiel interaction, I do ask that you give me a heads up, as I can't be available 24/7, but can often work with preplays or slowplay or whathaveyou. The rest of Castiel's week is often spent wandering around town and into random shop posts to learn the lay of the land and see what the island has to offer -- or hitting up the Perk to make use of the wi-fi so he can argue with fans of Carver Edlund's Supernatural series of novels. They're getting it wrong, dammit!

Just wait until he starts trying to write fanfiction.

He also has been adopted by an insane, feral tortie named the Cat. The Cat is fiercely protective of Castiel. He's its prey, and no one else can have him. Yeah, I dunno.

And the crazy girl:

Hi! I'm Bella, aka Iz, (formerly) aka Nadia, aka . . . well, I'm open to nicknaming, let's leave it at that.

I'm on crack.

Not literally. But I am kind of insane and come up with somewhat bizarre ideas that I like to shaaaare.

I'm a 28 year old east coaster with two jobs, one of which allows me to be online just about all the time (assuming I'm not trying to muddle through, say, the federal budget), the other of which doesn't let me anywhere near a computer for as much as 11-12 hours on end. I'm primarily about in the afternoons/early evenings on weekdays, when I'm stuck at a desk. After around 7 pm EST, I'm more likely to be in and out as I drive home, run errands, and make little critters out of socks, and weekends are usually spent at the grocery store doing shifts or sleeping, but I try to get on for big events. When I'm not at the weekend job, I'm usually available by email at bellatemple (at) gmail (dot) com -- I'm sometimes on AIM in the evenings/weekends as "NotISaidDuck" -- and I'm pretty easy going, so feel free to shoot me an email if you've got something to say or ask. For serious.

I can't read this username as anything but "not my ownage." And then I wonder "shouldn't it be spelled with a p?"

And then I realize what it actually is. UNLESS I'M WONDERFULLY WRONG.
